Description
We're seeking a Senior UX Researcher to support the Equipment Management workstream within a large, cross-functional product team. This role is focused on customer-facing and B2B tools that help fleet managers interpret and act on large volumes of data to maintain fleet health. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, comfortable sharing research findings, and able to quickly get up to speed on complex topics.
We are seeking a UX/UI Researcher for the Shop Team. The UX Researcher will utilize their knowledge of human computer interactions and best user research practices to support the concept, prototype, test, and documentation of the preferred user interface. They must recognize where research and testing would be valuable to inform or improve the concepts and coordinate with the team to understand the user's needs. They will work closely with designers, engineers, strategists, and management to communicate the vision and path forward. This person will be responsible for documenting the preferred experience, creating visual artifacts (reports), and handoff.
Typical task breakdown:
1. Translate research and test findings into actionable, prioritized recommendations for UI designs.
2. Ability to clarify user, customer, and business needs and translate into concepts for compelling interactions and user experience
3. Understanding of research methodologies and experience facilitating research
4. Experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
5. Communicate with designers on prototype requirements to test and iterate
6. Document key goals, themes, elements, and behaviors that must be implemented by downstream UI teams
7. Create shareable UX artifacts based on the team's research and activities (such as journey maps, storyboards, and user flows, etc)
8. Document the overall UX strategy (UI, physical attributes, guiding principles, and more) that will be leveraged across all downstream partners
9. Prioritize research needs/backlog based on product roadmap
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead UX research initiatives for the Equipment Management workstream.
  • Conduct moderated and unmoderated user interviews and usability testing (e.g., via UserTesting.com).
  • Design and administer surveys, and perform secondary research.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product owners, and other stakeholders in a dotted-line reporting structure.
  • Present findings in a clear, professional format that highlights challenges and solutions.
  • Engage with hard-to-reach user audiences and synthesize insights to inform product development.
  • Self-initiate stakeholder meetings and onboarding conversations to understand the landscape.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 3+ years of UX research experience (4+ preferred).
  • Strong understanding of various UX research methodologies.
  • Experience with both moderated and unmoderated testing, survey design, and secondary research.
  • Familiarity with common UX tools; ability to quickly learn new platforms (e.g., Dovetail experience is a plus but not required).
  • Experience in B2B environments is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in software-focused environments (desktop and mobile apps).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with teams creating equipment management products.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Curious, self-starter mindset with a passion for learning complex domains.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate research findings effectively.
  • Experience recruiting hard-to-reach audiences.
  • Portfolio optional, but appreciated to understand presentation style and problem-solving approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Education:
5+ yrs of experience in UX Research and knowledge of user experience best practices desired, preferably within a corporate environment or B2B environment.
OR B.S. or higher in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or other UX-related field or substitute additional 2-3 years of experience
Success in First 90 Days:
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative by learning the equipment management domain.
  • Set up introductory calls with stakeholders and team members.
  • Begin conducting research and sharing early insights.
  • Build relationships across the team and understand the broader product landscape.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
