Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Elixir Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and fault-tolerant applications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the Elixir programming language, functional programming principles, and the Phoenix framework. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver robust software solutions that meet business requirements for high-concurrency systems.
Key responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable applications using Elixir and the OTP (Open Telecom Platform) framework.
  • Design and implement back-end services, APIs (RESTful or GraphQL), and microservices to support high-performance applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code, and participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to optimize performance.
  • Design and implement database schemas and manage data interactions with tools like Ecto.
  • Work within an agile or similar development process, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Required qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Elixir developer or in a similar back-end engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in the Elixir programming language and experience with its core ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with the Phoenix framework for building web applications.
  • Solid understanding of functional programming concepts and paradigms.
  • Familiarity with the Erlang VM (BEAM) and OTP design principles.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Proficiency in working with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
