  • 1-5 years Total Work Experience - Don't send a person with more than 5 years of experience.
  • No PST (Pacific Time Zone candidates
  • Job is to schedule releases. After hour releases will be 25% of the hours.
  • Release times - Normal Releases start between 8-9:00pm CST and a few at 7:00 am CST.
  • AWS - blue/green deployments and load balancing
  • (They don't want a strong Azure or Google Cloud Platform) 99% AWS based and 1-2% on prem solutions.
  • Jenkins - execute automated pipelines for production releases
  • Jira / Confluence
  • Service Now (not required)

There will be planned weekly afterhours releases that begin around 8:00pm central for a few hours and a few that work with off-shore teams that begin at 7:00 central time. This Release Manager 1 role can sit remotely, but here is some more information:

1. Works across three different teams with a total of 25 people including managers.

2. Work is regular releases. Working with application teams to schedule releases. There are after hour releases which is about 25% of the hours. They start between 8-9:00pm and a few at 7:00 am. This will be a total of 40 hours, so Friday hours might be less due to time during releases during the week. There is no on call unless there is a true emergency.

3. Main selling point is the people on the team. It is a remote, virtual team that has great personalities and a very collaborative environment. Some have been at Enterprise for 30 years and some graduated from college a year or two ago. Days are always different and dynamic. They work with a large assortment of diverse applications.

4. Need someone who can pivot quickly. There are some days where there are 2-3 releases per day. Definitely multiple per week. This team supports about 50 products, and they also maintain platforms. This is in the Cloud office / DevOps and production support team. Infrastructure platform releases and Application releases. This is 99% AWS based and 1-2% on prem solutions. No Azure.

5. The work will be 80-90% release management, but there will be an opportunity for some project management work as well.

6. NO PACIFIC TIMEZONE CANDIDATES

7. Experience with Cloud deployments. Has basic knowledge of AWS concepts such as blue/green deployments and load balancing

8. Familiarity with Jenkins to be able to execute automated pipelines for production releases

9. Experience working with Microsoft tools such as excel, Atlassian tools such as Jira / Confluence and Service Now
