We are currently looking for an experienced Construction Project Engineer to join our team with one of our clients. I would like to tell you a bit more about this position and learn a few things about you, as well.

Job Description:

As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Project Managers in various project-related tasks to ensure successful project delivery. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the project team as requested.
  • Providing support to field staff.
  • Maintaining proper electronic project file structures.
  • Creating and maintaining logs such as RFI, CO, and submittal logs.
  • Writing and creating RFIs and implementing the answers.
  • Composing and maintaining a schedule tracker for projects.
  • Completing all submittal packages for given projects and maintaining submittal logs.
  • Assisting in autonomously creating and tracking project budgets and Schedule of Values.
  • Preparing and distributing project operations and maintenance manuals at closeout.
  • Identifying changes to the scope of work and price change orders, including material take-offs.
  • Running efficient and productive meetings when the Project Manager is not available.
  • Monitoring subcontractor agreements and providing explanations for any problems.
  • Preparing, issuing, and tracking change orders.
  • Meeting deadlines and working under time constraints.
  • Generating and maintaining outstanding relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, owners, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Practicing awareness and a proactive attitude toward safety.
  • Portraying positive company behavior.
  • Participating in and completing Safety Training courses.
  • Performing other tasks as needed and requested.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of 1+ year of professional construction experience; Bachelor s degree in Construction Management or similar experience strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in technical applications and software tools, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Bluebeam.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical systems, products, and equipment including hydronic & refrigerant systems, air systems and finish, hangers & seismic.
  • Intermediate knowledge of plumbing systems including gravity system, pressure systems, med gas & lab gas systems, plumbing finish/ ADA.
  • Proven understanding of project maintenance and startup standard operating procedures, and project schedules (sequencing of work, crew flow, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of detailing and fabrication schedules.
  • Ability to perform monthly billings and cashflow projections.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of professionals, both inside and outside the organization.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Must be physically agile and able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces.
  • Must maintain a valid California driver s license in good standing due to required travel to and from multiple project locations.
