About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java development and cloud technologies to join a strategic engineering initiative within our Compliance organization. This role is part of a multi-year project focused on building a suite of solutions for the Global Control Room, aimed at managing material non-public information and preventing insider trading.

You will work on cutting-edge technologies including Kafka, Spring Cloud, and CI/CD pipelines, contributing to the development of cloud-native applications that will be deployed on Azure or Google Cloud. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, collaborative team player, and passionate about continuous learning and growth.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications using modern frameworks and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Integrate with Kafka for real-time data streaming and messaging.
• Build and maintain microservices architecture using Spring Cloud.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to story development and refinement.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10-12+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 11/17, RESTful Web Services, and Spring Cloud.
• 3+ years of experience with Kafka integration.
• 3-5+ years of experience building microservices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud platforms: PCF, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Proven ability to work independently and resolve technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (U.S.-based degree preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or compliance-related projects.
• Exposure to solution architecture.
• Familiarity with AI use cases in enterprise applications.
