Job Description:
Position: Kafka Admin Architect
Location: Remote in the U.S.
Rate: $82.00 - $94.00 per hour
Duration: 12+ Months; Strong potential for extension
Overview:
Our client in the Banking industry is seeking a Kafka Admin Architect to manage the Confluent Kafka platform across hybrid environments. The role involves configuring, monitoring, and automating Kafka infrastructure to support mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities:
Deploy and manage Kafka clusters using Confluent Platform.
Set up and monitor brokers, Zookeeper/KRaft, Schema Registry, and Control Center.
Handle topic configuration, security (RBAC, TLS/SASL), and auditing.
Automate deployment and scaling using Helm, Ansible, or Terraform.
Design DR and replication strategies with Confluent Replicator or Cluster Linking.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years in distributed systems/platform engineering.
2+ years Kafka administration with Confluent.
Experience with Kafka internals, Kafka Connect, and Control Center.
Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation.
Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent monitoring tools.
Desired Experience:
Experience with Confluent Cloud or AWS MSK.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and GitOps practices.
Financial industry experience is a plus.
