 Program Manager

Req #: 2507-1

Team: Talent & Technology

Role Overview:

  • Program Manager supporting Talent + HR-focused initiatives, reporting into Trista’s portfolio.
  • Primary focus on managing workstreams and programs tied to integrations, including:
    • Business integrations (e.g., animation studios, acquisitions)
    • Position management
    • Benefits integrations
    • Job architecture and related HR programs
  • Role exists due to a team member on LOA, creating short-term coverage need.

Duration / Employment Type:

  • 6-month contract only
  • No planned conversion to FTE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage 1–3 workstreams, depending on ramp-up speed and capability.
  • Drive program governance across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Heavy emphasis on:
    • Stakeholder management
    • Process coordination
    • Communication and alignment
  • Act as a connector between Talent/HR and technical teams (not hands-on technical execution).

Required Skill Set:

  • Strong Program / Project Management experience
  • Background in HR, Talent, Benefits, or broader HR programs
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments
  • Proven ability to:
    • Build relationships
    • Influence without authority
    • Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics
  • Experience managing integrations (HR, business, or M&A-related strongly preferred)

Nice-to-Haves / Systems:

  • Workday:
    • Familiarity required (pulling reports, extracting data)
    • Not an advanced or Workday-heavy role
    • Hiring manager explicitly does not want someone who is strictly Workday-focused
  • Potential future exposure to a compensation tool, but Workday is the primary system today.

Ideal Background:

  • HR Program Manager with M&A / integration exposure is ideal.
  • Industry:
    • Entertainment or Tech preferred
    • Studio experience is a plus
    • Disney background mentioned as relevant (HM’s prior experience)

Working Style & Fit:

  • Success depends on relationship-building, not rigid or overly robotic PM approaches.
  • Projects succeed by:
    • Trust-building
    • Influence
    • Strong interpersonal navigation
  • Stakeholder challenges are less about resistance and more about alignment and influence.

Location / Time Zone:

  • Hiring Manager is East Coast
  • Strong preference for someone who can work West Coast hours or align closely with them.

Deal Breakers:

  • Overly technical / purely Workday-centric profiles
  • Rigid PMs who struggle in ambiguity or relationship-driven environments
  • Lack of HR or Talent program context
