Position Title : Senior Software Engineer
Job Description :
Design, develop, test, implement, and support software solutions to meet business requirements for Wellington's research platforms. Design new platform functionality (collaborating with stakeholders) and help other developers use the solutions they build. Perform as member of the IT team that both supports and provides research and collaboration technology for Wellington investment professionals focusing on building out our research platforms, ESG & sustainability initiatives, and data analytics capabilities. Support and build highly customized homegrown solutions and vendor products. Working with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans. Designing, prototyping, and coding new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack, including services, web and mobile clients, infrastructure, and back-end. Coordinating with analyst teams and vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing. Modifying and enhancing existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance. Authoring technical design and support documentation. Position is fixed location based in the Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. If working remote, travel to Boston office is expected 4 times per year.
Job Requirements :
Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Quantitative and Computational Finance or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience developing application software
Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary: $179,000 - $185,000/year.

- Developing with a modern JavaScript framework, including React, Angular, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Developing front end web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS/SASS/SCSS
- Developing applications using NodeJS
- Writing and maintaining unit tests in a modern JavaScript framework using Jest and Enzyme
- Developing with AWS technologies: Lambda, CloudFormation, and DynamoDB
- Developing in buy-side investment management systems in areas of investor research and analytics.
- Developing with OpenFin technologies
- Experience with mobile application development
- Advanced JavaScript state management libraries: Redux or RxJS
- Working with in-house applications and highly complex, interrelated systems and processing such as Research Management platform or content subscription and alerting framework.
- Modern software development and testing methodologies, including Artifactory, GIT, and Jenkins CI
- Agile software development methodology
