We are seeking an Operational Readiness Project Manager to ensure a smooth transition for all processes supporting a pharmaceutical modernization project. This role requires hands-on project management experience in the pharma industry, specifically with operational and quality assurance functions in large-scale drug substance manufacturing.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, matrixed environments, is highly organized, and demonstrates strong time management skills. Experience with Electronic Batch Records (EBR) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a major plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business process mapping sessions to define current state vs. future state.
- Build, update, and manage project schedules using MS Project (Smartsheet experience).
- Track progress and adherence to project plans for documentation updates.
- Work with matrix teams to assess EBR impacts across functional areas.
- Support operational readiness elements of projects, including rolling data migration and cross-functional coordination.
- Capture and distribute meeting minutes and project documentation.
- Provide clear communication and updates to project teams, contractors, and site operations staff.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 6 7 years of pharma industry experience, with at least 3 4 years of hands-on project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree (required).
- Strong familiarity with Project Management tools and principles (PMBOK, PMI). PMP certification.
- Proven ability to lead projects within a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment (pharmaceutical manufacturing).
- Experience with MES and/or Electronic Batch Records implementation projects is highly preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, MS Project, and other project management tools (Smartsheet, project portfolio software).
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in cross-functional, matrixed teams.
- Ability to lead and drive projects independently, focusing on 1 2 projects at a time.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Expertise in schedule building and updates.
- Experience in operations integration / operational readiness, not general operational excellence.
- Exposure to complex projects and data migration initiatives.
- Ability to thrive in an open office environment with frequent distractions.
- Willingness to relocate at own expense if needed.
- Ability to occasionally work overtime as required.
