Location : Alameda, CA
Duration : Long-term Contract

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS EKS Lead Consultant to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and DevOps practices. You will be responsible for leading the migration and management of applications on the AWS EKS platform. The job location is Alameda, CA.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement EKS Clusters: Architect, deploy, and manage AWS EKS clusters ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Migration Activities: Lead the migration of applications to the AWS EKS platform, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor, a team of engineers, providing technical direction and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • POC Development: Develop and execute Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate new technologies and approaches.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce network and security policies to ensure cluster security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor cluster performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource usage to ensure efficient operation.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform to manage and automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • DevOps Practices: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient deployment processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the architecture, configurations, and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience with AWS services and at least 5 years with Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Skills: Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.), Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and leadership, skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Skills: Experience with Ansible or other infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies quickly.
