Title: DHS QA Specialist
Location: 64 New York Ave, NE, Washington DC 20002 (Onsite)

Rate: $60/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance / Functional Tester to support DHS projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation testing, release management, and QA methodologies, with hands-on experience using tools such as HP QTP, UFT, or
TestComplete.
The QA Specialist will design and implement test plans, create automated test scripts, execute testing across web applications, and collaborate closely with development teams to ensure software quality and compliance with SDLC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute functional, integration, and end-to-end test cases across multiple platforms (web, mobile, portal frameworks).
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using HP QTP, UFT, or similar tools.
- Participate in design and technical documentation reviews to ensure test coverage.
- Create test summary reports and communicate results effectively.
- Support multiple release cycles and coordinate with development and business teams.
- Develop and maintain regression and automation test suites.
- Perform production support and defect triage for software applications.
- Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation (Oracle 11g/12c).
- Utilize HP ALM / Quality Center for test management.
- Ensure requirements traceability and testing best practices adherence.
- Support both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or related field.
- 5+ years of QA and functional testing experience.
- Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
- Experience with Oracle databases, SQL scripting, and web application testing.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools like HP QTP, UFT, TestComplete, etc.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience in government or large enterprise environments is a plus.
