Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Direct Hire Opportunity

Location: Onsite in Oshkosh, WI (No remote or hybrid options)
Salary Range: $72,200 - $94,200 (based on experience) + 5% bonus
Interview Process: Phone and in-person
<>Position Overview</> The Sr. Engineer will design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. Responsibilities include engineering analysis, design or redesign, and development of components for existing and new vehicles. The role also involves integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to Oshkosh and industry standards.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing plans, designs, and reports.
  • Manage projects or parts of projects of limited complexity; may handle multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and resources on technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering criteria and company policies.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Conduct engineering analysis for part and material selection.
  • Provide technical assistance for production support.
  • Analyze and resolve engineering issues; prepare proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain project documentation and historical records.
  • Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches for system performance optimization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment experience.
  • CAD proficiency and design management experience.
  • Familiarity with Windchill, Creo, and Catia.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to interpret technical procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills for moderately complex tasks.
  • Leadership capabilities for guiding team members.

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, typing; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Non-Physical Demands: Frequent analysis, reasoning, and sustained mental activity.
  • Environment: Frequent task changes; occasional high-volume public contact.
  • Schedule: Routine shift hours; infrequent overtime or weekend work.
