MSG is growing our Transportation Team in Michigan and is seeking a transportation engineer to work on MDOT and local agency roadway and utility design projects and working in a 3D digital environment. This role includes a supervisory component, overseeing a team of seven designers based in our Detroit office.
This person will be working in a collaborative team environment located in the heart of Detroit's bustling downtown. This position offers significant opportunity for growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading the preparation of transportation design plans/3D modeling for local agency transportation and/or municipal utility projects
- Performing and checking various design calculations
- Performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package (special provision development, estimates, RID packages, etc.) for milestone submittals to clients
- Providing technical expertise/guidance to junior staff
- Support MDOT projects, as needed, with similar responsibilities
- Lead staff of 7 designers as part of our Detroit transportation team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 12-15 years' experience working with MDOT transportation and Local Agency
- Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states
- Knowledge of OpenRoads design software is required. AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus
- Experience working as a PM
- Desire and ability to manage a team
