Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience designing and maintaining advanced MS Access databases.
10+ years of experience in relational database design, normalization, and schema refactoring.
10+ years of experience with Microsoft Access (tables, queries, forms, reports, VBA).
10+ years of experience migrating databases to cloud SQL platforms (Azure, AWS, PostgreSQL).
8+ years of experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, AWS DMS).
8+ years of experience creating migration runbooks, data dictionaries, and documentation.
8+ years of experience with RDBMS tools (TOAD, SSMS, SQL Developer).
8+ years of experience configuring and monitoring data integration solutions.
Experience in computer systems analysis or programming.
Strong knowledge of database structures, theories, and current technologies.
Working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies.

Preferred Experience:
6+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, JIRA).
6+ years of experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
6+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies.
3+ years of experience in healthcare or public health domains.
3+ years of experience implementing Agile practices for State of Texas agencies.

Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Database Developer with 10+ years of experience in Microsoft Access and cloud-native SQL platforms.
This role will lead the migration of legacy Access databases to modern, scalable SQL environments
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in relational database design, performance tuning, ETL development, and stakeholder engagement.
This position involves planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, ensuring alignment with structural and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities:
Lead migration of legacy Microsoft Access databases to cloud-native SQL platforms.
Design and implement normalized relational schemas and schema transformations.
Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or AWS DMS.
Perform performance tuning and optimization of database queries and structures.
Direct programmers and analysts in modifying database management systems.
Review and correct programs and provide technical support to users.
Evaluate user requests for new data elements and integrate them into shared environments.
Perform logical and physical data modeling, including ER modeling and prototyping.
Monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements.
Create and manage test database environments and recovery procedures.
Ensure database security and assist in disaster recovery planning.
Maintain data dictionaries and enforce standards for data definitions.
Ensure compliance with EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
Provide training and documentation for users and technical teams.
