Position Purpose:
The Channel Support Specialist / Application Engineer provides critical support to channel partners, internal sales teams, and customers. Acting as the first point of contact for transactional and operational inquiries, this role handles issue resolution, complaint tracking, and ensures smooth communication across manufacturing and sales operations.The specialist serves as the first escalation point for supporting the sales team and resolving issues involving partners or customers. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering training to channel partners on internal tools used for quotations, order tracking, and operations. The role involves direct interaction with customers, channel partners, production sites, sales representatives, and the broader channel support team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Maintain strong working relationships with internal sales management and external channel partners
Serve as liaison with feeder factories to support channel partner needs
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance customer/channel satisfaction and support revenue growth
Act as escalation point for issue resolution across transactional and operational topics
Train and assist channel partners in using internal quoting, ordering, and operations tools
Review and understand customer control specifications and develop control system architectures accordingly
Prepare control functional specifications for systems, workstations, or production cells
Modify or adapt existing equipment controls as needed for proposed system changes
Develop and analyze cost estimates for control systems
Participate in customer meetings and deliver presentations as required
Coordinate customer activities related to control engineering and support
Performance Measurements:
Completion of responsibilities accurately and on time, aligned with established policies and procedures
High level of professionalism and responsiveness in supporting channel partners and internal stakeholders
Effective resolution of inquiries, complaints, and support needs
Complete and accurate documentation of quotations, customer records, and system configurations
Clear communication and collaboration across internal departments
Timely escalation of significant concerns to management
Qualifications:
Experience refining team-based processes to improve outcomes
Strong understanding of quoting, ordering, and proposal workflows
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Salesforce, or equivalent
Solid understanding of channel sales support and order fulfillment processes
Ability to analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical control system solutions
Knowledge of control architectures, functional specification development, and cost estimation
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Comfortable attending client meetings and discussing technical details
