Who we're looking for:

We are seeking a Network Engineer Mid with expertise in designing, implementing and supporting network systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will help ensure reliable and secure network performance in support of mission-critical environments. The Network Engineer Mid role involves planning, deploying and maintaining a broad range of networking technologies and collaborating with technical teams to drive continuous improvement. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development and culture of an exciting and fast-growing company in the cybersecurity market. Employment for this position is dependent on the successful award of the contract.

What you'll be doing:

  • Gather user network requirements using multiple methodologies to develop technical documentation, system requirements documents, system security requirements documents and system test plans.
  • Design, install, maintain and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving various protocols, topologies and networking hardware.
  • Assist with network architecture design, feasibility analysis and cost studies.
  • Utilize knowledge of internetworking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls and peripherals to assess current network designs and support the development of new designs.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop improved network solutions and contribute to ongoing network service improvements.
  • Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Work independently and collectively to enhance the quality and reliability of network services.
  • Support Continuity of Operations (COOP) operations as needed.
  • Perform design, deployment, testing, certification, patching and address interoperability issues for all network features, components and application dependencies.
  • Support infrastructure requirements involving switches, firewalls, load balancers, software-defined networking and private cloud environments.

What you need to know:

  • Strong knowledge of internetworking concepts, including routing, switching and networking protocols.
  • Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and other networking hardware.
  • Understanding of network architecture planning and evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation, including system and security requirements and test plans.
  • Knowledge of Continuity of Operations (COOP) principles and network resiliency practices.

Must have's:

  • Bachelor s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
