Role: Stress Engineer
Location: Wichita, Kansas, U.S. Based, Major Aerospace Hub
Industry: Commercial & Defense Aerospace
We are looking for an experienced Stress Engineer to lead the assessment and approval of structural repairs for aerospace components. This role involves performing detailed stress analyses to ensure repairs comply with all certification, safety, and airworthiness standards, while helping minimize production delays.
Core Responsibilities-
Evaluate non-conformities and their impact on aircraft structural integrity.

Develop, validate, and approve repair solutions compliant with regulatory standards (FAR, EASA, FAA).

Conduct static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses to support repair justifications.

Review MRB dispositions for both production and in-service aircraft.

Collaborate closely with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to optimize repair strategies.

Provide timely support to production teams addressing structural challenges.

Ensure adherence to industry best practices and internal engineering guidelines.

Document technical analyses and reports for certification and audit requirements.

Apply knowledge of AS9100 quality standards in daily engineering tasks.
The ideal candidate is a self-starting, organized team player with strong technical communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, breaking down complex problems and driving solutions collaboratively.
Required Experience & Qualifications-
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field.

3+ years MRB stamping authority experience

Familiarity with Boeing platforms and specifications is a plus.

Extensive experience with metallic and/or composite aerospace components.

Strong background in Finite Element Modeling (FEM) in aerospace.

Proficient in Damage Tolerance Analysis (DTA), including tools like the CRPR program.

Ability to interpret and act on non-conformance reports.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
