Join Collins Aerospace as a Product Owner Engineer. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for problem solving and delivering solutions that provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of the DPLC efforts across the enterprise.

Digital Product Lifecycle (DPLC) is a Collins wide digital transformation initiative, integrating and deploying cutting edge capabilities in how product is developed, produced, and supported. The Landing Systems Digital Thread team is looking for a highly motivated, highly organized Product Owner that has strong communication skills, attention to details, understanding of data pipelines, data curation, managing an Agile backlog and experience navigating competing priorities.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:
  • Leverage Agile methodologies to manage projects.
  • Facilitate iteration planning, set iteration goals, and conduct team ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-up).
  • Manage the team backlog, drive product strategy, and oversee implementation.
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholder engagement across a portfolio of programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the customer and development team, clearly communicating project requirements and objectives.
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning meetings.
  • Conduct road mapping, planning, and alignment activities.
  • Ensure cross-team and cross-functional coordination.
  • Measure and drive the success of initiatives.
  • Analyze metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Track, mitigate, and resolve issues, risks, and blockers efficiently.
  • Prepare and deliver effective communications, both oral and written.
  • Keep management informed of progress to ensure alignment.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior team members.
  • Serve as an Agile Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a training resource within the DT organization.
  • Partner with engineering and proposal teams to capture requirements, create executable plans, and ensure effective program support across functions.
  • Clarify requirements and align work with priorities.

Qualifications you must have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager, or in a similar role within an Agile environment.
  • Proficiency in backlog management and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with Agile tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or related industry.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), or similar.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages (C++, Python, ADA)
