Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group is seeking a Middleware Systems Administrator who will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and the day-to-day activities related to a specific portfolio with oversight and governance for key systems administration. The Middleware Systems Admin role is specific to technologies such as Sterling Connect Direct, IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and Confluent Kafka.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support for Systems Administration environment, including maintenance, business continuity, security, and installation/configuration management
  • Coordinate with technical staff for implementation, documentation, and resolution of system incidents
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and represent technical issues to support teams
  • Manage daily technical tasks and delegate responsibilities to appropriate staff
  • Oversee infrastructure projects and deployment plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure application continuity and alignment with architectural guidelines

Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, MIS, or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in Infrastructure ecosystem in the execution of implementation initiatives, capacity management efforts, and design of high availability and backup & recovery solutions
  • Positive track record of delivering large-scale complex projects & initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Sterling Connect Direct, IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management using Puppet
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Scheduling using BMC Control-M
  • Strong knowledge of scripting in Java, PowerShell, Python and Node.js
