Position: Business Data Analyst
Location: Morrisville, NC 27560 (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Duration: Long-term Contract
Role Summary
The Business Data Analyst will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment of business goals with data and analytics solutions. This individual will play a key role in gathering requirements, defining data needs, and ensuring delivery of insightful analytics solutions on the new data platform.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for data and reporting solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and data sources.
Translate business needs into functional specifications for Snowflake, DBT, Power BI, and SQL Server implementations.
Support data modeling, data validation, and solution design with engineering and BI teams.
Perform gap analysis and recommend data-driven solutions to address business challenges.
Facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
Create user stories and acceptance criteria for data-related features in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
Assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure solutions meet business expectations.
Required Skills & Experience
8 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst focused on data or analytics projects.
Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical / Healthcare domain is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of modern data platforms and tools including Snowflake, DBT, Power BI, and SQL Server.
Proven experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong documentation skills able to create clear and concise business requirements, user stories, and process flows.
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and compliance practices.
