Job Description Summary
The Sr. Engineer will play a pivotal role in owning and leading cross-functional efforts to advance projects through the Innovation funnel. This role is specific to the Home Care platform which consists of innovate and leading products that serve customers dealing with varying degrees of urinary incontinence in a Home setting. The Sr. Engineer will collaborate closely with key functions including R&D, Medical Affairs, and Marketing, ensuring strong strategic alignment with Platform and Functional Leadership at UCC.

Urology & Critical Care (UCC) is one of the fastest growing business units in the BD-Interventional Segment, and has 4 platforms - Acute Urology, Endo Urology, Home Care and Targeted Temperature Management.
UCC employs more than 1,000 people around the world and is headquartered in Covington, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. The company has engineering design centers in Atlanta, Denver, Ireland, China & India, as well as numerous manufacturing facilities, located in US, Malaysia, and Mexico.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
- Serves as the Sr. Engineer in Innovation for Home Care, leading cross-functional efforts to identify unmet needs, initiate Innovation projects and move them along the funnel, following the BD Innovation Playbook and Biodesign principles.
- Generates insights and ideas by going to Gemba and partnering closely with Marketing, R&D, Sales and Medical Affairs team members to continuously generate ideas into the Innovation funnel.
- Manages Critical Home Care Innovation Projects:
- Manages key timelines and milestones for Innovation projects.
- Discovers and refines draft User Needs & Product Requirements through iterative research via partnership with the cross-functional team.
- Engages with design and prototyping vendors.
- Supports comprehensive transfer of Innovation projects to Global Product Development.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience with an R&D (Engineering, Biodesign, or Science) background in the medical device industry required.
- Training in Biodesign, Design Thinking, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or equivalent programs preferred.
- Experience in Innovation or creative product development processes preferred.
- Project Management experience and training preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
