We're looking for an experienced Windows System/VMware Engineer to join our team at the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC), supporting the Intelligence Community with secure, resilient systems that keep the mission moving.

This is a high-visibility, on-site role where your VMware and Windows Systems expertise will directly strengthen national defense operations.

What Will You Do
  • Engineer and maintain robust VMware environments, including upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle planning.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex server/application issues to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to align system configurations and performance with organizational goals.
  • Document configurations, workflows, and compliance materials to meet DoD security policies.
  • Champion new technologies and process improvements that increase operational efficiency.

What Sets You Apart (job qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or a Master's degree and 6+ years of experience. Additional experience, trainings, and certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 30 days of offer.
  • VMware certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of offer).
  • 7+ years hands-on experience with VMware in Windows-based infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware 7.0+ and NetApp SAN technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Suitland, MD (no remote/hybrid option).
