Chronos Operations, LLC is seeking a COMSEC Specialist III to manage advanced Communications Security (COMSEC) operations, including the accountability, distribution, and secure handling of cryptographic materials and devices. This senior level role ensures compliance with DoD and Army regulations, oversees COMSEC custodial functions, and maintains secure communications capabilities across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the full lifecycle of COMSEC materials, including receipt, distribution, inventory, and destruction.
  • Maintain accountability of all COMSEC devices and keying material.
  • Oversees security and destruction of COMSEC materials.
  • Train personnel in proper handling and security of equipment.
  • Write training documentation that aligns with COMSEC policies.
  • Conduct site audits and assessments to ensure compliance with DoD and Army COMSEC policies.
  • Serve as the senior COMSEC custodian, overseeing subordinate custodians and ensuring proper training and adherence to procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support secure communications and cryptographic operations.
  • Manage secure storage and physical security of all COMSEC assets.
  • Prepare and submit required accounting reports and documentation to leadership.
  • Respond to incidents involving potential compromise of COMSEC material and support mitigation efforts.
  • Advise leadership on COMSEC posture, risks, and compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Cyber Security or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in COMSEC, including prior COMSEC custodian responsibilities.
  • Must have active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS with SCI eligibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of DoD and Army COMSEC policies
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to COMSEC and secure communications
  • Familiarity with secure communication devices.
  • Proficiency in COMSEC auditing, reporting, and documentation.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve COMSEC discrepancies and incidents.
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability.
  • Good work ethic and active desire to learn.
  • Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
