Description
Our client is seeking highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in managing, optimizing, and ensuring the seamless operation of cloud and hyper-converged infrastructure environments in Cadence. The ideal candidate helps expand, improve, and support all USRS information technology infrastructure and associated services. This role's core technology responsibilities will be Hypervisor technologies, Server OS technologies (Nutanix AHV, VMWare, Windows and Linux), and other related technology areas.
Job Responsibilities:
Design the implementation of various IT systems at customer locations.
Physically install and cable various IT systems in customer datacenters.
Document final installed configuration.
Provide oversight to other onsite vendors.
Work within a combined vendor team to resolve issues and keep delivery on schedule.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft ADS, VMWare ESX and Nutanix virtualization technologies, SQL Server, Terminal Services, Certificate services, authentication management.
Solid grasp of TCP/IP and network services such as DNS, DHCP, VLANs, RADIUS, ACLs, NAT, etc.
Experience managing systems that require change control, and associated documentation.
Problem solves issues related to the network, servers, and business applications in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Deploy, configure, and maintain Nutanix and VMware hyper-converged infrastructure.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of services.
Design and implement scalable solutions to meet organizational needs. Understand customer requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement tailored IT solutions. Deliver solutions that consistently exceed customer expectations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business objectives.
Perform upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance for OpenStack and Nutanix systems.
Ensure compliance with security standards and implement best practices for data protection.
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.
Manage Microsoft Active Directory- User and group management, Network Services, File Services, Interoperability with M365 / Entra / Azure Environment, on-prem to cloud migration of services.
Manage Okta SSO environment and interoperability with business applications, including authentication and security.
Manage Nutanix and VMWare environments - functionality, maintenance, optimization, hardening.
Collaborate with Networking and Security teams to implement network and application security hardening and monitoring.
Configure and manage the patching and updating of all on-prem infrastructure hardware and supporting the on-premises video conference room hardware, software, and updates.
Develop automation scripts for efficient system management using tools like Ansible, Terraform and Pulumi.
