The Development Product Owner (DPO) serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role is pivotal in eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and communicating business needs to ensure the delivery of effective solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document business needs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Requirements Management: Elicit, refine, and prioritize business requirements, translating them into actionable plans for technical teams.
• Methodology Adaptability: Operate within various development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, adapting approaches as necessary to meet project demands.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the business requirements expert, coordinating with subject matter specialists to ensure comprehensive understanding and documentation.
• Decision Making: Provide day-to-day guidance and decision-making support to execution teams, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate business and operational risks, escalating issues and recommending solutions as appropriate.
• Technology Integration: Work across diverse technologies, including infrastructure, mobile platforms, and vendor partnerships, to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Process Improvement: Partner with stakeholders to analyze and enhance business processes, developing metrics to track benefits, adoption, and operational risks.
• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, testers, and analysts, to execute projects in line with product roadmaps.
• Backlog Management: Manage and prioritize work items, assessing impacts and making informed decisions on feature development and defect resolution.
• Change Management: Prepare the business for changes, equipping teams with strategies and metrics to manage adoption and measure benefits.
• Mentorship: Support the development of less experienced DPOs and team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.

qualifications:

1. Ability to refine features, create stories with acceptance criteria for a team of developers without have a strong background in the subject matter area. 3-7 years.

2. Ability to communicate progress of the work in a transparent manner to stakeholders and business owners. 3-7 years.

3. Ability to manage risk and impediments, problem solve and find solutions to to remove barriers and ensure work can progress forward.

skills: Individual who has prior/current development product owner (DPO) experience working on both run the business and build the business efforts. Knows how to work in Agile methodology. Understands how to quickly get up to speed and learn domain knowledge. Has soft skills and understand how to interact with both business owners and IT partners.
