Hybrid - Phoenix, AZ (3 days onsite)
Contract - 1 year with extensions
Pay Rate: 50-60/hr

Job Description
The Product Owner for Cloud Security Engineering will guide a cross-functional engineering team focused on delivering secure cloud capabilities. This role defines and prioritizes the product backlog, translates business and security needs into actionable user stories, and ensures the engineering team delivers features that enhance cloud security, compliance, reliability, and scalability. You'll collaborate with engineering, security, architecture, and governance groups to align requirements, remove impediments, and support secure delivery across public and private cloud platforms. The Product Owner will also drive transparency through metrics, documentation, communication, and adoption of newly delivered capabilities throughout the organization.
Required Skills
3-5+ years in product ownership or product management within a technical environment
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Understanding of cloud security concepts, such as identity and access controls, encryption, monitoring, network segmentation, and cloud-security tooling (CSPM, DSPM, etc.)
Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27000 series, SOC2, etc.)
Hands-on experience supporting agile teams (Scrum or Kanban), including backlog management and user story creation
Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence
Bonus / Soft Skills
Experience supporting cloud security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering teams
Ability to facilitate sprints, planning sessions, and product demos
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define and track KPIs
