Job Summary:
The Accessibility QA (Quality Assurance) Specialist is responsible for evaluating and ensuring digital content and applications meet accessibility standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1/2.2, ADA, and Section 508. This role involves manual and automated testing, defect reporting, and collaboration with development teams to improve accessibility across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accessibility audits and evaluations on websites, web applications, and mobile apps.
- Use assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) to test user experiences.
- Apply automated testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) and manual techniques.
- Document accessibility issues clearly and concisely with appropriate references to WCAG guidelines.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and product owners to ensure accessibility best practices are integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Retest and verify issue resolutions during QA cycles.
- Provide accessibility remediation guidance and support.
Qualifications:
- 2 4 years of experience in accessibility testing or digital quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and ADA compliance.
- Hands-on experience with assistive technologies.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, ARIA, and JavaScript from a testing perspective.
- IAAP CPACC, WAS, or any other related certification is a plus.
