Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team, specializing in the planning and coordination of infrastructure projects within network facilities and data centers. This role involves overseeing the implementation of customer and equipment installations, managing critical infrastructure such as power and cooling, and driving project execution across multiple teams. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency and infrastructure growth across our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage floor space, AC/DC power, and cooling allocation within network facilities and data centers.

  • Oversee rack space and power implementations across multiple locations.

  • Schedule infrastructure installations, establishing Firm Commitment Dates (FCD) and Desired Completion Dates (DCD).

  • Support the implementation of new builds and modifications to existing network plant facilities.

  • Procure materials, manage inventory, and coordinate with vendors to track parts and deliveries.

  • Create bids with labor vendors, issue labor requisitions, and manage third-party vendor engagements.

  • Act as the central point of coordination between field teams, labor vendors, and cross-functional managers (CCM).

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery, adhering to quality standards and budget requirements.

  • Provide data to support capital planning, budgeting, and long-term infrastructure forecasting.

  • Identify and resolve technical and interoperability issues across platforms including multimedia, file transfers, and communications systems.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree with 4+ years of experience, or 6+ years equivalent experience in network facilities, colocation, or data center environments.

  • Strong knowledge of AC and DC power systems.

  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure or implementation projects.

  • Excellent project management and vendor coordination skills.

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio, and SQL.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with a professional demeanor.


Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience in Copper & HFC Network Design.

  • Background in EIS: Network Engineering.

  • Familiarity with data center environment standards and cabling infrastructure.
