About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional with hands-on expertise in IBM Content Manager and DB2 Optical Access Method (OAM) tables. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in data conversion and migration projects, specifically involving IBM Content Manager repositories and DB2 OAM storage structures.

This role involves working with a team of engineers, database administrators, and application specialists to perform content conversions, manage repository configurations, and ensure seamless transitions during system upgrades or migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand the existing IBM Content Manager and DB2 OAM data architecture.
  • Design and implement data conversion strategies for migrating content and metadata between systems.
  • Develop scripts, utilities, and processes for bulk data/content migration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to content retrieval, metadata mapping, and OAM table integrity.
  • Maintain and document procedures for content conversion, archival, and system integrations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data retention, compliance, and archival policies.
  • Optimize storage and retrieval performance within IBM Content Manager and DB2 OAM environments.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during migration projects and system upgrades.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Content Manager (ICM) including content engine, resource manager, and administrative tools.
  • Strong understanding of DB2 OAM (Optical Access Method) tables and structures.
  • Proven experience in performing content and metadata conversions from IBM CM and DB2 OAM.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl for automation.
  • Familiarity with SQL and DB2 administration tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IBM Content Navigator, FileNet P8, or other ECM platforms.
  • Background in regulatory or document-heavy industries (finance, insurance, healthcare).
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and records management.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies and WORM (Write Once Read Many) principles.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
