Senior Software Solution Architect, Plano, Texas

What you will do.
Design and oversee the implementation of complex software systems, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, security, and performance, using modern development practices and technologies. which will include:
1. Solution Architecture Design
Define and document the system architecture for enterprise-level applications (HLD/LLD).
Design microservices-based, event-driven, or serverless architectures as needed.
Create system integration strategies using RESTful APIs, message queues (aligning on data transfer mechanisms for API's between multiple data
Define data flow, storage strategy, and system interfaces.
2. Cloud & Infrastructure and Image Processing
Design and deploy solutions on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Architect image processing solution for with cloud and 3PP software providers.
Implement DevSecOps pipelines using tools like GitLab and related security tools.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and auto-scaling capabilities.
3. Development Practices
Set and enforce coding standards and architectural guidelines.
Guide implementation of design patterns (e.g., factory, adapter, dependency injection).
Oversee source control strategies using Git (GitFlow or trunk-based development).
4. Security & Compliance
Apply security best practices for application and infrastructure (e.g., OWASP Top 10, identity and access control, API security, Network Security).
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Design secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth2, SAML, JWT, ABAC/PBAC/RBAC and connected technologies like OPA).
5. Data & Integration
Design databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data models (normalized/denormalized, OLTP/OLAP).
Optimize data access patterns and indexing strategies.
Create process flow for integration between multiple data bases and systems applying enterprise integration patterns and API design practices.
6. Performance & Monitoring
Define KPIs and SLAs for system components.
Implement observability tools: logging (e.g., ELK stack), monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), tracing (e.g., OpenTelemetry).
Perform load testing and tune application performance.
7. Technical Documentation
Document solution architecture and produce related technical documentation.
Maintain architectural decision records (ADRs) and rationale.
8. GenAI
Apply GenAI first approach when designing solution, related infrastructure and SW Engineering practices

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Base Pay Range: $162,000 to $243,0
LOCATION: Plano, Texas
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson matches $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson's full matching contributions. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
