A leading progressive technology firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join its growing engineering team. Since 2017, the company has developed innovative data and software solutions that empower left-leaning candidates, causes, and social good nonprofit organizations. Originally operating as a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) company, it is now expanding into a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that enables smaller organizations to build customized models and integrate their own data layers. This is a full-time, onsite five days a week opportunity to join a high-performing team of 10 engineers dedicated to building technology that drives meaningful civic and community engagement.
This role offers the chance to become the organization's first dedicated QA professional, shaping the future of its testing and automation strategy. You will work alongside experienced engineers and a project manager with a QA background to design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks that ensure the reliability and scalability of a fully web-based platform. Required Skills & Experience
2-4 years of hands-on experience in QA automation
Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript for scripting
Strong understanding of Playwright or similar testing frameworks
Expertise in end-to-end, UI/front-end, and API testing
Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience developing automation frameworks from the ground up
Familiarity with data-driven platforms or analytics environments
Exposure to BitQuery or comparable data tools
Background working in Agile or startup settings
Strong communication and documentation abilities
What You Will Be Doing
Tech Breakdown:
80% Front-End (UI) Testing
20% API Testing
Daily Responsibilities:
80% Automation Development and Execution
10% Manual/Exploratory Testing
10% Collaboration with Engineering and Product Teams
