Job Details
Title: Camunda Developer
Location: ST. Louis, MO
Type: Contract
Note: Onsite
Job Description:
- Analyze existing workflows, rules, and integrations built on Pega and map them to equivalent Camunda BPMN/DMN models.
- Develop, configure, and optimize Camunda BPM solutions including BPMN workflows, DMN decision tables, and external task workers.
- Re-engineer and migrate legacy Pega processes into Camunda microservices or Camunda Platform 7/8 workflows.
- Build and maintain REST API integrations, connectors, and event-driven workflows.
- Collaborate with business analysts and solution architects to clarify migration requirements.
- Work with Java/Spring Boot teams to build external workers, service tasks, and microservices supporting Camunda workflows.
- Troubleshoot workflow issues, optimize performance, and ensure proper error handling.
- Assist in testing, validation, and deployment of migrated workflows.
- Provide documentation for new Camunda-based processes and post-migration support.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Camunda BPM (BPMN, DMN, CMMN optional).
- Good experience with Pega workflow/process models and understanding of case management.
- Hands-on development experience in Java / Spring Boot.
- Familiarity with microservices, REST APIs, Kafka (optional), and integration patterns.
- Experience with BPM process migration, process modeling standards, and workflow orchestration.
- Ability to read and translate Pega rules, flows, activities into Camunda equivalents.
- Understanding of architectural differences between Pega (rules engine) and Camunda (lightweight orchestration engine).
