Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented ITSM Business Analyst - Software Licensing to join our team on a strategic initiative focused on auditing, optimizing, and aligning software licensing across the enterprise. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance, reducing redundancy, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while supporting IT Service Management goals. The ideal candidate has strong ITSM process knowledge, expertise in software licensing models, and the ability to engage stakeholders to translate business and IT requirements into actionable licensing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of all software licensing across systems to identify current usage, compliance status, redundancies, and gaps.
  • Engage with stakeholders across IT and business units to gather insights on licensing needs, usage patterns, and future requirements.
  • Analyze licensing models, contracts, and cost structures to assess efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business and ITSM objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation and simplification of licensing across platforms and IT groups.
  • Collaborate with ITSM vendors and platform providers to ensure alignment of licensing models with enterprise requirements.
  • Develop a recommendation report outlining optimized licensing approaches, consolidation opportunities, and actionable next steps for enterprise-wide implementation.
  • Support ITSM process improvements that tie directly to licensing governance, compliance, and cost optimization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), or ITSM with a focus on licensing.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, SaaS, cloud-based) and vendor contract management.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and ITSM practices, especially as they relate to asset and service management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ITIL or ITAM certification (e.g., ITIL v4 Foundation, IAITAM, CSAM).
  • Experience with ITSM/ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, Jira Service Management, Remedy).
  • Background in vendor management, contract negotiation, or enterprise licensing migrations.
  • Experience leading licensing audits or enterprise-wide optimization initiatives.
