Cloud and API Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cloud and API Software Engineer for a hybrid (3 days in office) role. The preferred location is Birmingham, AL, but other acceptable locations include Charlotte, Atlanta, and Nashville.

Summary:
In this role, the Cloud and API Software Engineer will work on a high-visibility project involving the development and optimization of an application that connects Salesforce with backend systems through cloud-based APIs. The team is building scalable, serverless solutions within a modern event-driven architecture hosted on AWS.

Responsibilities:
* Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups and 3-week sprint cycles
* Develop and optimize AWS Lambda functions primarily in Python
* Design and support APIs to facilitate Salesforce-to-mainframe communication
* Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
* Contribute to an event-driven, Pub/Sub architecture (e.g., Kafka)
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical roadblocks
* Assist in the migration and integration of existing services into the Salesforce ecosystem

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree
* 5+ years of professional software development experience
* Strong experience with Python and .NET
* Solid understanding of API development and system integrations
* Experience working with serverless cloud functions and modern cloud platforms
* Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform
* Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers (e.g., Kafka)
* Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC best practices

Technical Environment:
* Languages: Python (required), C# .NET (WebAPI), Node.js (plus)
* Cloud Platforms: AWS (preferred), Azure or Google Cloud Platform acceptable
* Serverless Functions: AWS Lambda or similar
* Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (required), CloudFormation (preferred)
* Event-Driven Tools: Kafka or similar Pub/Sub technologies
* Data Platform: Snowflake (required)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
