Job Details

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and cabling infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber optics, Cat5/Cat6 cabling, server hardware repair, and vendor coordination.

This position is fully onsite in Atlanta, GA, and requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced technical operations setting.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform racking and stacking of data center equipment (servers, network devices, etc.).
  • Handle cabling tasks: install, terminate, label, and manage both fiber and copper (Cat5/Cat6) cabling.
  • Decommission obsolete equipment and cabling as per DCM standards.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in Aperture or equivalent tools.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware (HP, Dell, Cisco, SuperMicro, and custom systems).
  • Replace and repair components hard drives, DIMMs, processors, fan trays, and power supplies.
  • Manage cable running lists, labeling, and documentation for all deployed assets.
  • Coordinate with OEM vendors for RMA, warranty replacements, and onsite repairs.
  • Monitor and optimize data center power and HVAC utilization.
  • Maintain security compliance and safety within the data center environment.
  • Support Tier I IT operations and provide hands-on technical assistance.
  • Occasionally travel to remote sites as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations or hardware support.
  • Strong understanding of fiber and copper cabling standards.
  • Experience with HP, Dell, Cisco, and SuperMicro servers.
  • Knowledge of Aperture, DCIM tools, or other asset management systems.
  • Ability to follow structured MOPs (Methods of Procedure) and documentation practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift and install rack-mounted equipment.
  • Excellent communication and vendor coordination skills.
Nice to Have:
  • CompTIA Server+ or Network+ certification.
  • Previous experience in colocation or hyperscale data centers.
  • Familiarity with DC power systems or HVAC basics.
