Job Details

The Senior Systems Engineer performs system engineering work in the areas of requirements management, design, analysis, risk mitigation, customer interfacing and product management relating to communications, aerospace, entertainment and general computing application systems. This individual is an experienced systems designer with extensive experience in Life-Cycle development. The position may provide work leadership by training other employees and by assigning and monitoring their work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed analysis and propose design solutions to resolve system problems
  • Use the system engineering principles to develop a process tailored to the need, the system, the customer, and the development organization
  • The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
  • The design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of system projects, including prototypes, based on and related to, system or customer design specifications
  • Create and document the system architecture using Use Cases and other proven methods
  • Train the development staff in the process and its application - to increase productivity, quality, and cost reduction
  • Use standardized analysis techniques, document formats, design review formats, etc. to reinforce the consistent application of the process
  • Consult with end users to validate that the design meets the client needs
  • Translate customer needs into requirements for the system
  • Design system and sub-system components
  • Analyze and verify that designs meets requirements
  • Analyze and verify that sub-system to sub-system interfaces are consistent
  • Participate in creation and presentation of design reviews both internal and customer focused
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 6-10 years of experience working in a complex system engineering capacity
  • Ability to support system & acceptance testing
  • Full competence in Systems Engineering techniques

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $98,000 to $125,000, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
