Job Title: Data Analyst(Python/AWS/Redshift/Cloud Analytics)
Job Location: New Jersey City, NJ(Onsite)
Rate: $60-$65/hr. on C2C

Job description:

  • We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join one of our Scrum Teams on the Cloud Data Analytics Platform Team. Data Analysts on our team gather and interpret data to solve a specific problem and assist in uncovering key insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-making. They are a part of a scrum team but work tightly with Data Architects, Engineers, and Product Owners to profile data, map and define transformations of raw data into meaningful curated data which can be used by systems and end users for data integrations as well as for creating statistics and analytical insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Using automated tools to extract and gather data from primary and secondary sources
  • Profile and model data: define relationships between data entities, structure schemas, and understand how data appears and flows across systems.
  • Identify and interpret corrupted or incomplete data and suggest strategies for improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining AWS data systems to support new and enhanced ingestion pipelines and data storage for a Lakehouse Architecture pattern
  • Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data in test and production environments
  • Filtering data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code and human error problems
  • Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise strategies.
  • Communicating the results of the findings to stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps with artifacts such as mapping documents, data catalogs, data lineage, profiling analysis reports

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS Athena/S3 (Parquet format), and Redshift.
  • Strong understanding of normalized and dimensional/star schema data models.
  • Knowledge of Python, Tableau Prep, Tableau, AWS Sagemaker is preferred
  • Understanding concepts of statistics and data science is a plus
