We are seeking a hands-on and highly experienced Senior Security Engineer to join a lean, high-impact Information Security team within a fast-growing, mission-driven technology company in the life sciences sector. This role is ideal for professionals with deep cloud security expertise who are passionate about building scalable, secure systems in a collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment.

This is a strategic and technical position that blends architecture-level thinking with practical execution. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of modern cloud infrastructure, InfoSec tooling, and compliance frameworks, while being able to influence and support both internal stakeholders and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement secure, scalable cloud environments across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure
• Manage and optimize a best-in-class security stack including Wiz (CSPM), Tines (automation), FleetDM (MDM), and AppGate (VPN)
• Serve as a senior individual contributor across InfoSec, helping shape strategy while staying hands-on with implementation
• Support internal risk, compliance, and certification efforts (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) in coordination with global stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and scientific users to embed security into product and infrastructure workflows
• Stay current on emerging threats, attack vectors, and cloud-native security patterns
• Create and maintain documentation, reference architectures, and internal security training materials
• Represent security in customer conversations and cross-functional planning efforts
• Partner with DevOps teams to secure CI/CD pipelines and implement SAST/DAST/SCA tools

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on cloud environments and architecture
• Deep hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (strong preference), AWS, and/or Azure
• Proven experience with CSPM platforms (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Orca) and cloud-native security best practices
• Strong knowledge of IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, network security, and incident response
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR
• Experience with secure software development tools and techniques: SAST, DAST, CI/CD security, etc.
• Programming or scripting experience preferred (Python, Terraform, Ruby, OPA)
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; comfortable interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Confident, proactive, and able to thrive in fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environments
