We are hiring a IT Network/System Administrator to start with a well established Property Management/Land development company in Upland, CA.
- This is a Direct Hire position, Hybrid Outside in Upland (4 days a week on site)
- We are looking for someone with 4 to 5 years of experience overall in IT; specifically with 2 to 3 years of escalting IT support experience and 1 to 2 years of System/Network Administration experience within a professional setting
- We are looking for someone who has hands on experience with virtualization, supporting within a virtual environment, hands on networking experience in wiring, cabling, out in the field connecting cable, network rack and strong understanding of VPN, VLAN, IP schemas, etc.
- Patching experience is required, should be able to follow the company's processes
- Hands on Active Directory experience
- Needs someone who is eager to learn, with great customer service skills
- Salary is around 75k to 85k/year
The role involves monitoring, securing, and maintaining on-premises and cloud-based Windows and Linux servers, including performance optimization, documentation, storage analysis, and patching. It includes managing and documenting network infrastructure, troubleshooting equipment and cabling, and supporting ISP and configuration issues. Responsibilities include overseeing data backups, assisting with disaster recovery testing, administering Active Directory, troubleshooting GPOs, and conducting security monitoring, alert investigation, and vulnerability scanning. The role also requires creating scripts and reports to assess system health and supporting periodic audits to ensure compliance.
- Server Monitoring and Management:
- Monitor, secure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows and Linux) on-premises and in the cloud.
- Assist in regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
- Monitor server CPU and memory performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system efficiency.
- Create server documentation.
- Monitor and analyze storage and disk space utilization.
- Networking:
- Create and maintain network documentation.
- Rack and stack physical network equipment.
- Troubleshoot and clean up network rack equipment and cabling.
- Terminate, test, and tone structured network cabling.
- Troubleshoot and configure ISP connections and network configurations
- Backup & Disaster Recovery Monitoring:
- Monitor data backups, ensuring all planned backups are successful.
- Assist with disaster recovery testing and planning
- Active Directory Management:
- Monitor and maintain the Active Directory domain, including user accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Analyze and troubleshoot GPOs for security and system management.
- Security Monitoring
- Monitor, analyze, and investigate security alerts from multiple platforms.
- Perform network and software vulnerability scanning.
- Identify server software vulnerabilities and assist with remediation.
- Reporting and Auditing
- For all areas of system administration, utilize scripting and reporting tools to monitor, report on, and make corrections to systems.
- Assist and perform several periodically planned audits to ensure compliance.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in IT systems administration.
- Technical background in all the listed system administration areas listed.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Windows server administration.
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 suite.
- Familiar with network switching, VLAN, VPN, IP schemas, and other network protocols.
- Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Familiar with hypervisors and virtual server administration.
- Familiar with Backup software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Network cabling, punch down, test, and tone.
