Title: HVAC Design Engineer
Location : Roanoke, VA area (Onsite Position Monday-Friday)
Target Start Date : ASAP
Type: Direct Hire, Full Time
Salary : $105-125KYR depending on experience and excellent benefits/PTO package available.

Our client, a global leader in the climate control and data center cooling technology industries, is looking for an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to join our R&D team and help shape the next generation of data center cooling products. This role combines technical depth in HVAC system design with hands-on problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do
  • Design and optimize HVAC systems with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Select and integrate components (fans, compressors, heat exchangers).
  • Analyze refrigeration cycles to maximize performance and reliability.
  • Apply electrical diagrams and controls to enhance system function.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Support product testing and ensure compliance with industry standards.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
  • 5+ years of HVAC design/engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles and system optimization.
  • Experience working with electrical diagrams, fans, compressors, and heat exchangers.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Bonus Skills
  • CAD knowledge.
  • Large commercial, chiller, or industrial refrigeration experience.
  • Product testing and troubleshooting background.
