Description
We are looking for a skilled VMware Engineer to oversee and optimize VMware-based virtualization infrastructure for our client based in Corinth, Texas. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the stability and efficiency of virtual environments. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to system design, troubleshooting, and documentation. This contract position will be FULLY ONSITE.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
Perform regular system maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor resource utilization and system health to maintain efficiency.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to VMware systems and associated components.
Configure and manage VMware features such as vMotion, High Availability (HA), and vSAN.
Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures and architecture diagrams.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and compliant system configurations.
Integrate backup and disaster recovery solutions with VMware platforms, such as Veeam or NetBackup.
Support hybrid cloud environments, including VMware Cloud integrations.
Participate in on-call rotations and provide technical support outside of regular hours when necessary.
Requirements
Extensive experience (10+ years) in VMware infrastructure and virtualization technologies.
Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
Hands-on expertise with Windows-based virtual machines.
Solid understanding of networking, storage, and backup technologies in virtualized environments.
Ability to automate tasks using PowerCLI, PowerShell, or similar scripting tools.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex issues.
Effective communication and documentation abilities.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Palo Alto Firewall, and other integration components.
