Job Description

The Senior Specialist, Solutions Architecture leads architecture discussions for products/platforms throughout their entire lifecycle, leading the assessment of feature requirements and development of solution options with a focus on performance efficiency and cost optimization. The role oversees the interaction with the product team for technical assessments, maintenance of architecture artifacts, and collaboration with project teams to document future states. Additionally, the role leads the development of prototypes, facilitates training sessions for junior team members on solution architecture technical skills, and drives the application of new technologies.

• Leads architecture discussions for products/platforms, across all stages from ideation, design, development, deployment, and maintenance.
• Leads assessment of feature requirements, documenting technical gaps, and determining development requirements with a focus on performance efficiency and optimized cost.
• Drives development of solution options by analyzing and translating desired business capabilities into solution concepts and models.
• Carries out interaction with the product team to conduct technical assessments of internal and external platforms and tools, covering aspects such as service interoperability, infrastructure, scalability, security, availability, data handling, licensing, and global footprint.
• Oversees maintenance of architecture artifacts, including architecture working documents and technical architecture diagrams, to depict proposed solutions and support implementation.
• Leads collaboration with project teams to document the future state, assessing the cost, risk, and business value of architecture alternatives.
• Leads development of prototypes and proof of concepts to demonstrate new ideas and showcase the application of new technologies.
• Facilitates training and development sessions to train junior team members on solution architecture technical skills and industry best practices.

The minimum requirements we seek:

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in Solution Architecture with a Master's degree or 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree, preferably in solutions architecture or a related field.
• Hands on experience with Cloud Run, Data Flow, Cloud SQL, Big Query and related Google Cloud Platform services.
  Experience with designing high-availability, high-volume, low-latency technologies.
  In-depth expertise with modern analytics tools and techniques, including data discovery, streaming analytics, and related technologies.

Our preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or other information technology-oriented major.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in Solution Architecture with a Master's degree or 8 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree Developing and deploying software applications on Google Cloud Platform or other cloud vendor.
• Integrating Google Cloud Platform services into software applications.
• Designing and developing software applications.
• Working with software development teams to implement and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshooting and debugging software applications.
• Experience with tools such as Tekton, Terraform, Github, and other new technologies.
• In-depth expertise with modern analytics tools and techniques, including data discovery, streaming analytics, and related technologies.
• Familiarity in providing technical analytic/data solutions for applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers throughout the SDLC.
• Negotiation skills and ability to work with a diverse set of partners/customers.
• Exposure and experience with Ford Architectural standards, processes, and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate many services and a wide range of global business and IT partners.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
