VDI Infra Engineer

Soni's client is seeking a passionate VDI Infrastructure Engineer! This role offers a unique opportunity to join a team responsible for a state-of-the-art virtual desktop environment (VDI) used for demanding creative tasks within a leading sports organization. You'll be the lead technical expert, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the VDI infrastructure. Per the client, this is a hybrid position in Los Angeles that requires at least 2 on-site days a week.


Responsibilities:

• Lead technical expertise for a complex VDI system
• Troubleshoot and support advanced virtual desktop issues
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for the VDI environment
• Optimize performance and availability through monitoring and analysis
• Manage software packaging and distribution for the desktops
• Collaborate on implementing new desktop configurations
• Automate tasks and processes using scripting tools
• Research and recommend new technologies for the VDI environment
• Manage hardware and software deployments, upgrades, and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technology
• 5+ years of experience in desktop engineering
• Strong understanding of client system lifecycles
• Linux expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Experience with automation scripting
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Project management and strategic thinking skills
• Experience with current IT industry trends and integration
• Analytical thinking with the ability to simplify complex issues
• (Optional) Experience with industry-specific tools (ServiceNow, NVIDIA Grid, Leostream, Teradici)
