Akkodis is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a Full-Time opportunity in Fargo, ND.
Company Info: VOIP, Messaging, Telephone, fax company started in 2001 with 3 founders.
Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Fargo - 8-5
- 5-10 years of experience
- hardening of their network environment, redundency, off network access and data center support - 2 racks at each data center site
- Juniper switches, tnsr routers and pfsense firewalls - involved with being hands on daily and network design
SUMMARY
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in modern data center networking technologies to join our growing infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-performance environments, enjoys solving complex network challenges, and is passionate about building scalable, reliable systems.
As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and operating our global network. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams on routing architectures, automation, observability, and next-gen deployments using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN, and CI/CD-driven workflows.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and operating our global network. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams on routing architectures, automation, observability, and next-gen deployments using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN, and CI/CD-driven workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and maintain highly available network infrastructure in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.
- Design and optimize Layer 2/3 topologies using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Support and improve data center operations, contributing to monitoring, observability, and incident resolution.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to recommend and implement network upgrades to improve scalability and performance.
- Lead network automation efforts using tools like Python and Ansible, integrated with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, standards, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise or data center networks (Dell equipment / Seth storage/Linux enviornment).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, GRE, MPLS, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- Strong knowledge of Juniper networks (QFX series, Junos OS).
- Strong knowledge of Netgate networks (pfSense+, tnsr).
- Experience with network automation (Ansible, Python, etc) and integration into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, etc).
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills.
