We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Systems Integration to join our Rockford team supporting the design, development, and service of integrated systems and subsystems used in electric systems for military and commercial aircraft. This includes electronic controls and rotating hardware. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver, capable of working with customer teams and across various functional disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and data communication interfaces.
In this role, you will define system-level requirements and flow them down to LRU designers, simulate system-level operations, and coordinate development and qualification testing. You will lead cross-functional teams and interface with various groups to manage design and engineering documentation releases, development testing, qualification testing, and entry into service. Additionally, you will prepare procedures and reports for system and product testing, document design studies, trade studies, and failure analyses, while applying electrical/electronic engineering principles to ensure system design aligns with specifications, customer requirements, and standard work practices.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. What You Will Do
- Develop electrical sub-systems, including aircraft utilities, power generation, power distribution units, and related components.
- Apply electrical and/or mechanical engineering principles to design, analyze, and conduct engineering investigations on electronic products.
- Participate across the full product lifecycle, from requirements analysis through system integration, including verification in integration labs.
- Work within a structured development process, ensuring all requirements, designs, and test procedures are well-documented and adhered to.
- Utilize simulation and scripting tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Saber, or Python to support system modeling and analysis.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
- Prepare clear and concise written reports and deliver presentations to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience with electrical sub-systems development, system integration, and verification.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Development, including autocode generation.
- Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of RTCA, FAA, ARINC, MIL, and ISO specifications preferred.
- Familiarity with Aircraft Certification requirements related to System Safety and Reliability (ARP4754, ARP4761, FAR/JAR) and Aircraft Electrical System Architecture.
- Exposure to Built-In Test Equipment design, EMI design, and Aircraft Communications design is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in simulation and scripting tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Saber, or Python is preferred.
