MCS Group is pleased to be working with a client that is a staple in the Greater Boston community. This client is in need of an ETL/Database Developer with experience using Banner. The role is a hybrid position, with the teams in office on Wednesday/Thursday and remote Monday/Tuesday/Friday.



In this role, you will act as the subject matter expert for the given project, supporting enterprise data initiatives through robust ETL development, Oracle database administration, and Snowflake data warehouse expansion.


This role requires experience with Ellucian Banner.


It would be nice to have hands-on experience with ETL development using SnapLogic and Alteryx, API-based data integration, and Snowflake development, combined with strong Oracle database skills.

Essential Responsibilities




  • Design, develop, and optimize Oracle databases to support operational applications and enterprise reporting needs.




  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using SnapLogic and Alteryx to streamline data integration processes.




  • Connect and integrate data through APIs, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient workflows across platforms such as Banner, Slate, Canvas, and Workday.




  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code for Oracle and Snowflake environments.




  • Develop Snowflake objects (tables, views, procedures) to support enterprise reporting and analytics strategies.




  • Collaborate with business analysts, software developers, and project managers to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.




  • Maintain custom schemas, tables, and views that support strategic initiatives across the organization.




  • Perform data mapping, validation, and quality assurance for new and existing integrations.




  • Document ETL processes, data flow diagrams, API schemas, and database architectures.




  • Work closely with IT security teams to uphold strong data governance, security, and compliance standards.




  • Research and prototype emerging technologies to drive innovation in ETL, API, and cloud data practices.






Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, or related field.




  • Professional experience as an ETL Developer, Oracle Developer, or related role.




  • Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL development, and management of database objects.




  • Hands-on experience building ETL workflows using SnapLogic and Alteryx.




  • Experience integrating and connecting data via APIs, particularly with Ellucian Banner.




  • Experience writing, optimizing, and managing code and data flows into Snowflake.




  • Solid understanding of relational, dimensional, unstructured, and master data management concepts.




  • Strong experience with data validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.






Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience supporting Higher Education or other complex organizational environments.




  • Direct experience with Snowflake platform features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Resource Monitors.




  • Working with Alteryx specifically in ETL or advanced data preparation roles.




  • Experience working within cloud environments (AWS, Azure) for scalable data solutions.




  • Python or R proficiency for advanced data manipulation.




  • Familiarity with Slate, Canvas, and Workday platforms.
