Position Overview:

• We are seeking an experienced Google Data Cloud Consultant with deep expertise in Dataplex and the Dataplex Universal Catalog.
• The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Google Cloud Platform s data services, architecture, governance, and integration patterns.
• This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing data ecosystems for our clients, ensuring robust data management, discoverability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the assessment, design, and implementation of end-to-end data ecosystems on Google Cloud Platform.
• Advise clients on best practices for data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data security within Google Cloud Platform.
• Architect and deploy scalable data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Fusion, and Looker.
• Implement and optimize Dataplex for unified data management, including data discovery, classification, lineage, and policy enforcement.
• Configure and manage the Dataplex Universal Catalog to enable seamless data asset discovery and metadata management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and deliver technical documentation, best practice guidelines, and knowledge transfer sessions for client teams.
• Stay current with Google Cloud Platform data ecosystem advancements and provide thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or cloud consulting, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven expertise in Dataplex, including hands-on experience with Dataplex Universal Catalog, data governance, and metadata management.
• Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform data services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Data Fusion, Cloud Storage, Looker, etc.
• Experience with data security, access controls, and compliance frameworks within cloud environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data mesh architectures and multi-cloud data management.
• Familiarity with data cataloging tools beyond Dataplex (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data pipeline orchestration.
• Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.) is a plus.
