Job Details

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Engineer with a strong background in Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to design, implement, and maintain our ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, customizing, and optimizing the CMDB to support ITSM processes, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB in accordance with best practices and organizational requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions within ServiceNow.
  • Configure and customize CMDB classes, tables, discovery patterns, and relationships.
  • Manage integration of external tools and data sources for accurate CI (Configuration Item) data population.
  • Regularly perform data quality assessments, audits, and cleanup activities to maintain CMDB integrity.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, workflows, and automation to streamline Configuration Management processes.
  • Support Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes through effective CMDB usage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CMDB data, workflows, or platform configurations.
  • Document configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Stay updated with ServiceNow releases, new features, and industry trends related to CMDB.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on CMDB-related functionalities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer/Administrator, specifically working on CMDB implementations.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM processes and the role of CMDB within ITIL framework.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform configuration, including creating/configuring tables, forms, workflows, and integrations.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or Orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with REST/SOAP integrations and scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs).
  • Experience with data migration, data quality assessments, and CMDB normalization.
  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist CMDB) are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Prior experience in IT operations or enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge of other ITSM tools and integrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
