Job Title : Technical Support Analyst
Duration: 6- Months
Location: Petersburg, VA - Hybrid
Job Description:
- The Virginia Department of Health is seeking a Technical Support Analyst 4 to support its Region 1 operations. This individual will provide high-quality technical support services, including troubleshooting hardware and software, maintaining IT systems, and supporting user account management. The position requires hands-on desktop support experience, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals
- Install, maintain, upgrade, or replace hardware/software systems
- Manage user accounts, rights, security, and group policies
- Support communication equipment operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Maintain security controls and documentation for service records
- Provide technical assistance for application and hardware-related issues
- Lead or participate in meetings, document requirements, and escalate issues when necessary
- Recommend IT procurement decisions and support PC refresh projects
- Write clear, professional communications and follow-up with users/districts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with IT Service Management (Incident, Change, Service Request, Asset Mgmt.)
- Hands-on experience with hardware/software troubleshooting and support
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
- Clear, professional email and technical communication skills
- Ability to research, analyze, and resolve technical issues independently
- Experience in desktop support, including Windows 10 environment
- Strong collaboration and team participation skills
Highly Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) policies and PC refresh procedures
- Knowledge of VITA systems and IT governance
- Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (Associate or above)
- Experience managing multiple priorities or projects
Compensation
Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
