Desktop Technician
The Information Technology Department is seeking an experienced, high energy Desktop Technician who can perform a multitude of IT related tasks.

Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years of IT service desk experience
  • Advanced Knowledge of windows operating system (windows 10, 11)
  • Advanced Knowledge of M365 applications Outlook, Intunes, SharePoint, OneDrive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Planning and Organization:

  • Plan and organize the configuration and maintenance of hardware and software systems for city computers.
  • Coordinate special projects related to hardware and software installations and configurations.

Deployment and Recovery:

  • Perform installation and repairs of computer hardware and software.
  • Install, configure, and support network connections, including addressing connectivity issues.

Transition Management:

  • Conduct data wiping and oversee the disposal of surplus assets in accordance with City of Palo Alto policies.

Documentation and Tracking:

  • Write clear, concise documentation on procedures and project activities.
  • Assist in inventory control and tracking of licenses and software.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.
  • Provide desktop support, including the configuration of hardware, peripherals, and software.

Security:

  • Detect and remove spyware, viruses, and other malware to maintain system integrity.
